The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will celebrate the musical legacy of songwriter Johnny Mercer with a gala centennial tribute featuring film clips of many of his timeless classics, and personal performances and appearances by friends and colleagues, on Thursday, November 5, at 8 p.m. at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Performances by program host Michael Feinstein and Monica Mancini (daughter of Mercer's longtime friend, Henry Mancini) will bring some of Mercer's most beloved songs to life on the Academy's stage. This event is sold-out, but standby tickets may become available.
